About Joyous Bakes

I've always talked about opening a bakery one day, and finally decided it was time! I have a long history of baking - I baked as a kid with my mom and twin sister, and, once I upgraded from an easy bake oven to the real thing, it was always what I turned to when I was stressed or just needed a break. This became especially true after I started my first corporate job after college. I didn't love my job but I got to work from home on Fridays and started using those days to do a baking project for fun (whoops don't tell my boss). That eventually blossomed into a food blog, an appreciation for food photography, and now, a bakery!

I'm so passionate about food, and especially desserts, because it is such an integral part of peoples' lives - think about it, when was the last time you gathered with friends or family and there wasn't food present? It's something that brings people together for celebrations, brings comfort during the hard times, and is a way to share different cultures with others. I'm honored to get to share all of these occasions and more with you!
